Sally Mills Gallery

Mixed media Artist in love with textures describing her style somewhere between impressionism and abstract. Sally also creates a range of scarves, tote bags and cushions from her paintings

After 26 years in Australia we’ve recently moved back to Wales, now living in Monmouthshire. I have a Stiwdio in the hills of Gilwern and busy painting a new art series focused on water and its many patterns and reflections. I have a permanent spot at The Court Cupboard Art & Craft Gallery, exhibit at Oriel CRiC Gallery. Will be taking part in the Crickhowell Open Art Studios, Abergavenny Arts Festival, Abergavenny Food Festival and Art in Penallt this year.

Tropical is on a large heavily textured canvas and the flowers are sort of velvety with deep purples and violet with a touch of 24ct gold in a few of the centres; nothing too overboard but catch the light various times of the day and night. Tropical went to a lovely home in Australia and I’m now offering her as a limited edition print in a number of sizes. Hope you like.

Buttercup Hill inspiration; all you can hear is nature buzzing and you can feel the soft breeze as it ripples through the grass and buttercups – it’s one of those days of serenity and wishful thoughts. Painted on 1m canvas impasto style. Thoroughly enjoyed painting this and used real grasses to flick paint creating pollen in the air and the finer grasses. Now offering Buttercup Hill as a limited edition print in a number of sizes.
