Tregroes Waffles a family-run business, based in the village of Llandysul, West Wales, marks its 25th Anniversary in November 2008.
How it started
It all began around a bonfire on Guy Fawkes Night on 5th November 1983 where Toffee Waffles were made with a small hand-operated Waffle Iron and netting £50 that first evening!
The idea was fired
Years of attending just about every street market and Fair going has led us - all these years later - to be producing from bespoke premises in Llandysul in the beautiful Teifi Valley in West Wales at a rate of up to 4000 Waffles per hour and employing around 15 happy people!
We have a fairly comprehensive presence within Wales itself - to whom we deliver direct ourselves. We supply to individual Retailers and Wholesalers within the rest of the UK (under TREGROES and own-label brands), and we also export to a number of countries
Outlets we Supply
On our own home turf we supply by our own vans to all manner of outlet, from Corner and Coffee Shops to delicatessen and the main multiples (Wales only).
Over the border from Wales we supply mainly through Wholesalers UK-wide (including Spring Fine Foods, Cotswold Fayre amongst others) while we retain some Retail Customers who have, historically, chosen to deal direct with us.
Some Retail Customers that we are especially proud to supply under the TREGROES brand include Fortnum & Mason, Harvey Nichols, Lakeland Plastics and Selfridges.
Since there is nothing ´standard´ about these Waffles, there is nothing on our production that is standard either. Each individual step is meticulous and done to perfection.
