SCHOOL ANNEX

The School Annex is a stone built, self catering holiday property, set in the grounds of Talybont village Old School House. The self catering Annex is separate from the Old School House, with direct access from the shared garden and driveway.

Enjoying extensive countryside views and situated on the Taff Trail for walkers and mountain bikers, this detached holiday home is available for short breaks or longer stays. Ideal for a family or group of close friends who prefer the convenience of self catering, the property comfortably sleeps 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children.

The School Annex is in the heart of Talybont on Usk, a lively village close to Brecon with canal and rivers offering an excellent base for exploring the Brecon Beacons. You’ll be a few minutes walk from Talybont on Usk’s well stocked village shop, café and post office, and four great pubs serving a good range of food. Ideal if you get back from a busy day and don't want to cook!

As you would expect from a self catering property, there is a separate well-equipped kitchen. The large kitchen/diner is just a dozen steps away from the living accommodation across an external courtyard. Well-equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer the kitchen also has a large clothes airer/dryer and a dining area plus a dart board at the back.

The double height lounge is a light and airy room with all you need to wind down and relax. The lounge has a TV with freesat from Sky, a DVD player with a huge selection of films provided. There is also a selection of books and games for your enjoyment and telescope for our dark, starry nights!
Patio doors lead out onto the private terrace and garden with furniture and BBQ.
There is a large shower room off the lounge and also a study area with computer available with broadband access.

The main bedroom is accessed by some steep wooden steps from the lounge and is a cosy bedroom nestled in the mezzanine of The School Annex. With sloping ceilings, this large room has both sleeping and sitting space and can sleep two on a super king sized bed or three on single beds, depending on your requirements.
The ground floor bedroom has a double bed with a single bunk above. An additional single is available if required. The room is accessed either via a private outside door or from the study through the lounge. There is a separate toilet and wash basin next to this bedroom in the adjacent study area. Both bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities for your convenience.

Being Cycle and Walker friendly, we have an outside tap and hose for you to wash down your equipment along with secure storage for bikes if required. There are maps and guide books available and plenty of drying space for clothes and boots. We also provide an electric car charging point for anyone who needs it, one of the green initiatives that has given us a Gold Green Tourism Award.

Whether you’re looking for an activity break, want to visit some of the many places of interest in and around the Brecon Beacons, or just want to take time out and relax, this self catering holiday cottage offers a high standard of accommodation in a fantastic location.
