In a quiet hamlet a mile above Tintern, with its romantically ruined Cistercian Tintern Abbey on the banks of the River Wye, a warm whitewashed detached stone character cottage. Styled and unusually well equipped for every comfort and with a fresh design twist, sleeping up to 6 in 4 bedooms with 2 smart bathrooms. Perfect for a family holiday, reunion of friends, or a couple's warmly relaxing escape - often chosen for anniversaries and significant birthdays. !

With a blissful Hot Tub in its own pretty and sheltered garden , off road parking for 2-3 cars ,excellent walking from the doorstep,( pets welcome and stabling available nearby), 4 TVS, Sky,DVDs,Ipod docks and WiFi internet access - its also ideal for families who must take Facebook on holiday!

There are two newly refitted and fully tiled smart bathrooms , one with bath and one with a showercubicle, both with basin, wc and space for your cosmetics)
The upstairs bathroom has a shaving socket, both have heated towel rails and good lighting. There is lots of hot water -due to our good new systems topped up by solar panels.
We have two double bedrooms and two spacious singles. We can offer a travel cot and two high chairs for little people.

The bright and warm sitting room has a cosy woodburner, oak floor with bright rug,squishy leather suite, books and DVDs to borrow and a TV with a large flat screen.
The dining room is smart, with leather chairs and a light oak table plus a TV/DVD/Ipod dock.
Our kitchen and laundry rooms will please the most demanding cook - fully fitted with all mod cons ( washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer and split level cooker double oven and extractor hood) plus of course all the necessary pots pans and utensils.

Our garden with furniture is a delightful place to sit in the sun, whilst the relaxing hot tub spa soothes away the day and is wonderful in summer or winter. Particularly fabulous in snow! .
We have private off road parking for 2-3 cars .

A very full inventory including many extras ,and modern basics like WiFi double glazing , excellent insulation, and a green central heating system go without saying. All in all it is well up to the official 5 star standards- standards our many repeat guests at Tintern Abbey Cottage and Vanilla ( our two other 5 star cottages ) have come to trust.If you would like to know more about anything specifically please ask us.

GOLF! Kayaking, Walking! Foxes Reach is ideally placed for golf with 20 or so courses in under an hours drive. We have a lockablle store for your clubs and we can even help you to locate a caddy.
The kayaking in the Wye is excellent. Bring your own or rent locally ( help available for beginners)
Walking- well what can we say. Paths and lanes from the doorstep. Long distance Offas Dyke and Wye Valley walk right here, closeby the Forest of Dean and the open mountain of the Brecon Beacons. At Chepstow the start of the Wales Coastal Path (so you could go all round the coast and back via Offas Dyke!) Fabulous.
