The Tower Hotel is a small family run hotel, restaurant and public bar in the mid-Wales town of Talgarth, at the foot of the Black Mountains in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The Tower Hotel is set amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, yet being only 6 miles from the famous book selling town of Hay-on-Wye with its literature festivals and 10 miles from Brecon, a town renowned for its annual jazz festival. Talgarth hosts an increasingly popular festival in August.

The Tower Hotel was built in 1873 for the gentleman farmers to attend the livestock market, which still exists. Retaining many of its Victorian features, the Tower Hotel has been sympathetically updated with modern conveniences and boasts a lively public bar, licensed restaurant, bar meals, games area, five large bedrooms and parking.

Accommodation
There are five bedrooms at the Tower Hotel, two being a bunk rooms in their own self-contained wing of the hotel (sleeps 9) They are all individually decorated, light and airy and maintained to a high standard. You will be given keys, including the front door key, so that you are free to come and go as you wish.

Particular attention is paid to cleanliness. Fresh towels are provided with a daily clean of each room.

En-suite Family rooms have TV and tea / coffee making facilities. Shower cream and shampoos are also provided.
Bunk rooms all linen, towels, shower gel/shampoo are provided. A kettle is provide in each room with coffee and tea provided
All rooms have fitted carpets, central heating and there's constant piping hot water available.
A drying room is located near to the bunk rooms. All guests are welcome to use this facility
Check-in available from 2pm on day of arrival. Room must be vacated by 11am on day of departure.

The Restaurant is newly refurbished and can accommodate wheelchair users.

We pride ourselves on providing good, home cooked food. Prices are from £3.50 Meals are cooked to order giving you time to sit back and relax over a drink before you eat. Please contact us to book a table and check opening times on 01874 711253.

Packed lunches are also available upon request at £4 per person and include a cold drink.

The Tower Hotel has a lively and popular public bar where you can enjoy a drink and a chat or socialise over a game of pool or darts. There's a jukebox and plenty of space to meet up with friends and relatives.

The Tower Hotel has regular live entertainment and shows major sporting events on a large screen, including Sky Sports, Prem Plus and Setanta.

There is sometimes an opportunity to take part in a karaoke - or just sit back and listen to everyone else! Please ask if you're interested in the karaoke being set up for your group.

We serve meals in the bar and restaurant throughout the week. Please check with us first to see when we're serving.

The groundfloor is accessible by wheelchair and there is a toilet that has been specially adapted for wheelchair users.

We adhere to the drinkaware.com regulations relating to consumption of alcohol on the premises.

We have a covered area which is heated for smokers, located to one side of the hotel and overlooking newly landscaped gardens.
