Newport Transporter Bridge
The Newport Wonder
Built in 1906, the Newport Transporter Bridge has stood for over a 100 years as a symbol of the industrial heritage of the City and wider area. Standing majestically over the River Usk, the bridge can be seen clearly from most parts of Newport.
Scale the bridge for a majestic walk over this landmark of the industrial revolution, or simply take a cheap ride via car, bike or on foot on the gondola over the river.
Fourteen Locks Canal Centre
NEWPORT'S BEST KEPT SECRET
The Canal Centre has been on this site since 1978 but it was only open six months of the year and five days a week. Over the winter of 2008/9 the Monmouthshire, Brecon & Abergavenny Canals Trust Ltd. together with Newport City Council raised enough funds through the European Funding Office to re-build the Centre to the magnificent building you see today.

Fourteen Locks Canal Centre

Newport Wetlands
Since it opened in 2000, the reserve has built a reputation as a beautiful home to some of Wales' most stunning wildlife. The brand new RSPB Environmental, Education and Visitor Centre sits on the edge of Newport Wetlands, nestled among reeds and pools, which are home to little egrets, herons and other wading birds.
